Triad RJ is looking for volunteers who share our vision for a more peaceful community through relationships, and want to invest their time in our youth. Our RESTART program integrates restorative practices with an evidence based curriculum of Aggression Replacement Training (A.R.T.). The 10-week A.R.T. course focuses on social skill building, anger management and moral reasoning. Youth are referred to our program from the juvenile court system or through school counselors. For youth facing court charges, successful completion of the program would result in a reduction or elimination of charges.
Class meets on Saturday mornings from 1pm-4pm and Tuesdays 6-9pm. New classes start every 4-6 weeks.
Volunteers will be building positive and supportive relationships with the youth. For this reason, we are looking for volunteers who can commit to attending all or most of the 10 classes during a session. Volunteers will also assist the Program Coordinator in class activities.
We are especially looking for individuals who can connect well with justice-involved youth, and those who may have overcome a difficult past (Background check is required, but results are evaluated on a case by case basis) . Passion required. Training & support will be provided.
