What Are Action Learning Projects (ALPs)?
Action Learning Projects (ALPs) are where leadership meets real impact.
Through ALPs, Leadership Winston-Salem connects teams of Flagship participants with local nonprofits to tackle real challenges and opportunities. Think of it as a pro-bono consulting team—bringing fresh perspective, strategy, and energy to help organizations grow their reach and strengthen their impact.
Nonprofits often don’t have the time or resources to step back, analyze big challenges, or build long-term strategies. That’s where ALPs come in.
Over the course of the program, participant teams:
- Work directly with a nonprofit partner
- Explore complex challenges and opportunities
- Develop strategic, actionable solutions
- Deliver meaningful outcomes that support the organization’s mission
Why It Matters
ALPs don’t just create plans—they build momentum.
Partner organizations gain:
- Fresh ideas and strategic insight
- Increased visibility with 70+ community leaders
- Stronger connections to future volunteers and advocates
- Real deliverables—at no cost
For participants, it’s a chance to lead, collaborate, and make a tangible difference in Winston-Salem.
