Who We Are

Founded in 1995 by four local women, the mission of the Women's Resource Center of Greensboro (WRC) is to promote the self-reliance of women by assessing needs, providing services and acting as a gateway to community resources.

With a staff of 6 and 350 volunteers, we serve nearly 4,500 Greensboro women and families every year.

What We Do

Whatever the challenge - whether divorcing, returning to work, starting a business, dealing with financial difficulties, or coping with family or health problems - the Women’s Resource Center is a great place to start.

  • We guide women to local agencies and programs who meet their needs, and fill community gaps with services of our own.
  • We offer a job-readiness training program, Women to Work.
  • Our Attorney Hotline puts women in touch with free legal advice.
  • We maintain a broad selection of agency brochures and several bulletin boards of events, job openings, free health screenings, and other opportunities in the community of interest to women.
  • Every week, WRC staff and local professionals provide educational workshops on financial, physical, legal,  emotional, and relationship health topics.

All of our services are offered free of charge.
