North Carolina Guardian ad Litem has been serving children in abuse, neglect and dependency court for 40 years by providing volunteer and attorney advocates to represent their best interests.

Guardian ad Litem Volunteers represent children in Abuse, Neglect and Dependency court. They are paired with an Attorney Advocate to make recommendations as to the children's best interest and to promote permanency. Our program recruits, trains and supports volunteers when advocating on behalf of children who are in court due to abuse, neglect, and/or dependency.  We provide the court the expressed wishes of the juvenile and make recommendations as to what we feel is in the child's best interest.  We are promoting permanency.
