Who We Are

Hoops4L.Y.F.E. is a non-profit organization founded in March 2014. The program’s mission is to empower and redirect youth and young adults through tutoring, mentoring, and basketball training. The Hoops4L.Y.F.E. organization seeks to provide exposure to cultural differences and educational activities to bridge the academic achievement gap.

What We Do

Hoops4L.Y.F.E. provides low-income, families access to affordable and reliable childcare and enrichment programming throughout the year.

  • After-School Program consists of providing tutoring for 25 students attending Title I schools. Students are referred from the family engagement coordinator through schools, teachers, and parents.

  • Summer Enrichment Program runs for 10-weeks throughout the summer months, providing students exposure to cultural differences and educational activities to bridge the academic achievement gap.

  • Basketball Program is a year-round program teaching basketball IQ as it relates to life, developing youth social-emotional skills, academics, leadership, soft-skills, and healthy living.

  • Parent/Family Engagement Program allows parents opportunities to address issues with youth in the home and especially in the classroom. Parents are able to identify and connect to resources by engaging activities monthly.
