Get creative and encourage reading for children over the summer. We need bookmarks to go in Summer Enrichment Packs. These packs provide an opportunity for continued educational learning during the summer months when many children remain at home with a limited structured learning environment. Summer learning loss is a term coined for students entering the school year at a lower level than they were at the beginning of the summer, which disproportionately affects low-income and marginalized communities. Activity packets encourage caregivers to facilitate the necessary activities to promote continued skill building and learning, especially for the low-income students entering kindergarten.
