greeNest is a unique, volunteer-driven nonprofit where community members bring their time, creativity, and energy to support families transitioning into stable housing. Volunteers help sort and organize donations, decorate the showroom, assist participants during their shopping appointments, and even refurbish or paint furniture to give pieces a second life. Together, they help create a warm, welcoming space that reflects dignity, comfort, and choice.

greeNest accepts gently used furniture and household items from the community and partners with case-managed programs in Forsyth County to assist individuals and families transitioning into stable housing. For a nominal fee, families can choose furnishings for their new home. The ability to choose is central to our mission, promoting dignity, comfort, and a sense of ownership.
