The Summer Program is a history adventure for students ages 5-14, running from mid-June to mid-August. Volunteer: Museum DocentsAre you interested in helping the museum with field trips? The Greensboro History Museum is currently accepting potential volunteers for our Docent Roster. Help elementary school children learn about the history of Greensboro and North Carolina by manning one of the six stations during the 2.5hr field trips. These stations cover a wide margin of history from Colonial Woodworking to Miss Lina’s Schoolroom. This is a morning program and it runs from 9:00 am-12:00 pm Tuesday through Friday. If you are interested you will be trained and shadow one of the field trips ahead of time. It is required to volunteer for at least two field trips per month during the school year (a total of 6 hours per month).

This role is a 2.5 or 2-hour volunteer role, Tuesday - Friday, sitting at the Lindsey Desk at the entrance to the Greensboro History Museum. You must explain the rules, orient, and help visitors to the museum when they first enter. You must be comfortable speaking to people of all ages. This position will sit often if they want, and remains behind the front desk for the duration of this time (with bathroom breaks).
