Volunteer: 2026 Camp Thrive Hosted by Special Olympics Iredell CountyThank you for your interest in volunteering! Our summer camp provides a fun, supportive, and inclusive environment for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Each session serves participants ages 8-13, 13-21, 22+, and volunteers play a key role in making this experience meaningful. Please sign up here. What to Expect: Camp runs daily from 9:30 AM – 2:00 PM starting June 8 through July 24Volunteers are encouraged to stay until 2:30 PM to assist with cleanup and preparation for the next dayActivities include arts and crafts, games, and group engagementSome weeks may include off-site activities or field tripsVolunteer Roles: General Volunteers: Assist with activities, engage with campers, and help create a positive environmentMedical/First Aid Volunteers: Provide basic care and respond to minor medical needs (must be at least 18 years old)Important Information: Volunteers must be 18 years or age or olderNo prior experience is required for general volunteersCampers who need personal care support (toileting, feeding, etc.) will have a dedicated one-on-one caregiverPlease wear comfortable clothing and be prepared to be active and engagedA positive attitude and willingness to help are the most important qualitiesWe appreciate your time and support in helping us create a safe, inclusive, and memorable camp experience for all participants.
