Volunteer: Hospice Volunteer - Patient Companion and Caregiver RespiteVolunteer opportunity to provide emotional and practical support to hospice patients and families. Activities include: supportive phone calls companionship visits respite for caregivers running errands (pharmacy or grocery store)Volunteers also provide administrative support at one of our two office locations or in-patient facilities. These roles include: data entry and filing greeting and directing visitors answering phone calls organizing medical suppliesThere are also a few other specialty roles that require additional training, which include: auxiliary chaplaincy bereavement assistance (including our KidsPath program for children under 18 years of age) tuck-in support calls pet therapyAll Hospice of the Piedmont volunteers are screened and background-checked. Volunteers must be age 18-years of age or older and complete a 12-hour training session/orientation.
