Volunteer: Parent Engagement Specialist

The Parent Engagement Specialist is responsible for helping to develop a Parent Engagement plan and for educating and engaging the parents/guardians/families of scholars to ensure they have current and accurate information needed to support their scholar’s journey to post-secondary plans.

A bachelor's degree is required, as well as experience in leadership development, counseling, middle school – secondary – or higher education. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with families, as well as the ability to work effectively with a diverse population in a team effort to support the mission of Crosby Scholars.

This is a 12-month, full-time position at 37.5 hours per week. Some weekend and evening work is required.

Volunteer: Foster Care Youth Initiative Coordinator

The Foster Care Youth Initiative Coordinator (FCYI Coordinator) is responsible for managing and implementing a comprehensive program to increase the number of Forsyth County foster care youth in grades 6-12 who enroll and graduate from a 4-year and/or a 2-year college. The FCYI Coordinator will develop and implement a high-touch Crosby Scholars model that supports students as early as sixth grade through high school graduation and attainment of a post-secondary credential.

A bachelor's degree is required, as well as understanding and knowledge of the foster care system as either a former participant or through previous work in foster care. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to develop cooperative relationships in the schools as well as in the community. Must be able to work effectively with a diverse population in a team effort to support the mission of Crosby Scholars.

The Junior/Senior Program Coordinator manages the Junior and Senior Programs to assure the scholars and families are being served with current and accurate knowledge and offered the most personalized services, the main responsibilities include managing the program in coordination with the Advisor and Financial Aid Coordinators, developing and implementing a two-year cohesive program experience, staying current on college admission trends and best practices in the delivery of advising services to students and parents, monitoring and tracking program participation and completion, developing and implementing a parent engagement strategy, and collaborating with the Outreach Team and community partners to meet the needs of students and enhance program opportunities.

A bachelor's degree is required, as well as an understanding of the college admissions process through college counseling, college admissions, or high school counseling experience. Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Experience supervising staff and working with diverse high school student populations is preferred. T
