Volunteer: Scout Camp-In Volunteer

Purpose of position: Camp-ins are an overnight experience where scouts work on a variety of badges.  Volunteers assist in the evening with crafts and activities, food preparation and serving, and set-up/clean-up.

Major Responsibilities:

Assist staff where needed Help with set-up and clean-up of camp-ins Assist with crafts and activities Prepare and serve food

Training Required:

New volunteer orientation

Shift Times:

Select Friday evenings in the spring and fall

Location:

North and Downtown

Qualifications:

Ages 16 or older Comfortable speaking with the public, especially children and families Willingness to help wherever needed Strong communication skills Volunteers ages 18 or older must complete a background check

Free instruction/training on a variety of science concepts. Opportunities to develop new skills and sharpen existing ones. Opportunities to meet new people and be involved in the community. 20% discount in Kaleideum gift shop after 10 hours of volunteering (volunteers must remain active to continue receiving this benefit). Family memberships after volunteering 15 separate days during a 12- month period.  This is not dependent on number of hours. Letters of recommendation documenting training, hours and experiences upon request.  We will not comment on academic ability.
